Basic Life Support Training
In addition to several fantastic opportunities which we have available for our staff to upskill with both practical training and online courses through our partnerships, we are very excited to announce that we now offer basic life support training in Cape Town, South Africa.
What is basic life support training?
Basic life support training (BLS) is so much more than CPR. With our reputable course provider, you will be given training on identifying potentially life-threatening emergencies, and how to act appropriately to help your patient.
In addition to being given practical tips on providing high-quality chest compressions, you will also be given in-depth training on using AEDs or otherwise known as Automated External Defibrillators. Which are used in cases where patients have suffered from sudden cardiac arrest.
What does BLS training include?
The course which we have on offer is accredited by the American Heart Association. With the guidance and coaching of our Nursing Facilitator, you will be given clear and concise training on:
The correct and most effective CPR practices for infants, adults, and children
You will be trained on the AHA (American Heart Association) chain of survival, specifically focused on the BLS components
The use and maintenance of AED devices
Effective ventilations using Barrier devices
Multi-rescue, and how teams assist each over during an emergency
Relief of choking, with training on how to relieve object obstruction in the patients' airways
This course will gain you a 24-month certification, which will open numerous opportunities for you as an agency nurse.
What are the costs involved?
To take part in the day course with the A24Group, the cost would be R1150 excluding VAT (R1322.50 including VAT).
As part of your training, you will receive a handbook, a completion certificate and an abundance of opportunities. This basic life support certification is valid for 2 years.
